SHOW PICS OF VICTIMS AS THEY LAY DYING FROM ASSAULT WEAPON VIOLENCE!!! Since the media "cleans up" pics they present, most of us never see what carnage looks like, unless of course if we've been in a war zone. Take for instance the babies massacred in Sandy Hook Elementary School in CT...our first glimpse of all the victims was probably the NY Daily News cover story SHAME ON US that showed 20 smiling faces of the babies who were massacred by a gunman with an assault weapon. We get to see victims from when they were alive and it can create an allusion that they just went away, which dulls the pain of facing what the victims must have experienced and what they were feeling as they lay dying.
I'm not a fan of gory pics - quite the contrary - but if this nation got to see the effects of the horror assault weapons inflict on victims, we would be outraged that our pols remain so loyal to NRA campaign $$$ and we would do more than respond to polls...As it is, news this week indicates the NRA will "win" again in watering down/completely washing away new gun-control legislation...and the next time an assult weapons attack happens - and there will be a next time - we'll go through the same futile exercise of responding to polls showing how much we care.
