Van Doom cites Mr. Hempton, someone who has been there all along; lots of folks know about the GSEs, and may know a little law and understand the political mind a bit. With the earnings story only really getting started, maybe some of these same folks has been buying. Someone has been buying lately.

As mentioned the earnings story gets better later, even as it looks more and more ridiculous to say "No Gov't Involvement in Mortgages" while taking every dime from the rightful shareholders (anyone who is an owner blah) without compensation.

A lotta dough, hard to pass up, but the very act of taking it now puts The entire Convocation of Idiots up for Criticism, even them for Free Enterprise, as they stand idly by and do nothing to support the rights of individual and private ownership.
