Whether it is RNA or DNA, the fact is blood can be frozen and stored for months and still yield accurate results.

Even the protocol states that blood samples will be taken in real time and analyzed for p21. Obviously after 5 months they are analyzing stored blood along with more recent samples from the 3rd Cohort.

For biomarker analysis, p21 expression, assayed by qPCR, in peripheral blood lymphocytes after Kevetrin administration.
