Re-polymerization.
Now that there is a definition and explanation for HTF... I see another significant problem…
Just after cracking and when the vapors begin to re-condense, with the addition of saturated hydrocarbons from the HTF there is a much higher potential for a chain or radical reaction. When there is a high proportion of unsaturated alkenes… with the addition of saturated HTF oils… they become highly reactive and want to hook up with the HTF oils. The newly cracked, unsaturated hydrocarbons will immediately begin to recombine with the HTF and essentially re-polymerize into thick wax or even short chain forms of polymers (plastic).
This problem will surely become the source of excuse to conveniently facilitate further delays.
Remember that I pointed this out… it is sure to come.
