Common sense would dictate that the flow chart is a simplistic view of complicated process. I take it that the arrow pointing into the cooling tower is meant to represent that water is used to somehow cool the product, not meant that the water is MIXED in with the product to cool it.

Notice that the #2 and #6 arrows point to the cooling tower also. Are both of those products input into the same cooling tower at the same time? Since they point to the same cooling tower as the water, does that mean #2 and #6 are also used to cool something?

Picking apart a 1 page flow diagram as if it represents the actual plant process verbatim is disingenuous at best.
