The vast majority of gamers DO NOT have extreme editons or Athlon FXs or even X2s. They are incredibly expensive and not worth the money. At the midrange though AMD may still claim benchmark superiority, the differences are more dependent on what video card you choose than the processor.

The game performance does depend on the processor and video card. But it is clear that you can chose any price point for a processor, and Intel will always be clearly a bad choice.

I am a gamer and I bought a midrange dell.
