It's odd how some things work. There are some stocks/funds that are our nemesis, and some that work. I've been rather fortunate with TVIX historically. I made Mom a whole bunch of money on it a few years ago. If you want to piss the good people at Sharebuilders off? Use unsettled funds to buy a stock and then day trade it. I had to, I bought TVIX in it's prime and it went up $12 a share that day. I couldn't hold it and take a chance on losing that kind of money. Needless to say, we got a nasty message from the nice people at the brokerage.

In regard to buying the dips. It's hard to buy low and sell high when you are chasing.
