Hi hyr! IMO, sometimes it is better to cut losses than to keep throwing money at something. Sort of like beating a dead horse. I'm not familiar with your play, but am just saying this as a general rule. There are definitely times when I do average down. For example, I've been buying more BAC on the dips. However, I have confidence in it that it will rebound and uptrend. Riskier plays don't get that from me. If I'm playing a lotto and I'm losing, I bail to keep myself from losing too much. Sorry if that was clear as mud. :)
