Sure that's it. The bid/ask spread is worlds apart and he could have probably jumped the bid and gotten them on that side. But instead he said to himself, "what the heck, I'll just spend another $300 bucks on this trade."

Yeah, that's it - just a smart trade, no attempt to paint anything or make the chart look better. Just a person wanting to put a couple of extra bucks into the toxic financier's pocket.
