Firewood, the perfect analogy...

Sure you can get FREE firewood here and there

It may incur cost to make it useable

or, you can buy firewood ready to use

If you spend the time and money to make the FREE firewood salable you could turn a profit.

If you could turn that firewood into something else
In order to make it worthwhile...
The 'something else' must have a value greater than the value of firewood.

If it has a value less than the value that you could get selling it as firewood... what's the point?

If your cost to make something else is greater than the value of the firewood... what's the point?

If there is an existing market for firewood with a higher value than your 'something else' and industry already makes the 'something else' at a profit... what's the point?

Sure you can get FREE plastic here and there

It may incur cost to make it useable

or, you can buy plastic ready to use

If you spend the time and money to make the FREE plastic salable to the recycle industry you could turn a profit.

If you could turn that plastic into fuel
In order to make it worthwhile...
The fuel must have a value greater than the value of plastic.

If it has a value less than the value that you could get selling it as plastic... what's the point?

If your cost to make fuel is greater than the value of the plastic... what's the point?

If there is an existing market for plastic with a higher value than your fuel and industry already makes the fuel at a profit... what's the point?

There is an existing market for plastic

There is an existing industry that makes fuel

The value of the plastic is greater than the value of the fuel

Plastic is made from oil

Fuel is made from oil

There is no commercially viable scenario that makes the fuel that JBI can make more valuable than the plastic on the recycle market.

Sell the firewood at a profit
Sell the plastic at a profit
making 'something else' isn't profitable
