Another reason why Peregrine added three more clinical sites might be patient motivation for entering this trial.

As a cancer patient, your main motivation is probably survival. This I-124 PGN650 is an imaging and dosimetry study...NOT therapeutic.

This study asks you to expose yourself to injection of a radioactive substance along with a "new" experimental product, then have three whole body PET/CT scans.

So, the benefit is not directly for the patient. They are being asked to do this mainly for medical science. I'm not certain that their personal oncologist will receive any information that might add to his or her ability to further treat the patient.

It may have been difficult to fill a trial of this nature in a timely way. Anybody who did volunteer was willing to offer something to wider medical research.
