the $10,000 isn't a "real" value, it is a convenient proxy for whatever your position size is. since we're talking about percentages, that's fine. but suppose you aren't really trading 10k, you just don't want to look at lots of zeros all the time because you're normally betting $10,000,000.

you see where this is going?

whatever your wager amount is, every system will impose some kind of limit beyond which you simply will not be able to trade effectively. at that point you have stopped compounding and started trading a fixed amount. if you are a successful trader, you will eventually reach this steady state, probably sooner than you think.

these limits can be quite low. i believe zeev has on occassion mentioned that one of the reasons he doesn't share more information on his system details is because at this entry points there are often not more than a few hundred shares for sale.
