Perception is everything, however. When rumors of "big news coming" started, a lot of shareholders assumed this meant big sale. When the PR came out and there was no mention of a sale or profit in it, people perceived this as bad news and started panic-selling.
While I agree with everything in your 1st & 3rd paragraphs, even seeing the PR for what it is. I stated earlier that had it not been for the hype this would have given us a bump.
What I have been trying to get people to look at is that we ALL were looking for a big sale, totally believed it. I don't think we perceived it as bad news but were let down terribly. ( not necessarily GDGI's fault ) I also don't think it was necessarily panic selling but sheer disappointment and for some tired of waiting on real performance.
Moving forward I hope that some lessons are learned, I know I've learned a couple.
Be careful pushing for answers before they are ready to give them.
Temper enthusiasm with objectivity.
Be ready to hear apposing views without attacking the messenger.
Being careful not to silence criticism, it may give pause to newcomers but hiding that criticism is dishonest. I would be upset to find out the hard way that everyone knew IT but me.

I'll just keep out of it tomorrow and try to get over it by Monday
