As one can see, this 3-D animation by Trinity Animation provides a glimpse into the future of underwater logging --- Hollund Industrial Marine's revolutionary TigerLynk underwater tree harvesting system.
TigerLynk is a large robotic articulated arm, camera and sensory system remotely controlled by an operator safely housed on the surface. It can be used in a wide variety of underwater operations including mining, salvage, ocean clean up, infrastructure repair and environmental remediation. However, Hollund's initial focus is on underwater logging in the reservoirs of Brazil.
North Cal Wood Products and Hollund Industrial Marine are working together to launch a new frontier in forestry that will seek to develop the estimated 300-500 million trees submerged in over 50,000 large dams throughout the world. Nearly all of these trees are old growth timber, and many are rare species and extremely valuable.
