STNT In December 2008 the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the stevia extract Reb A as a food additive, granting it Generally Regarded as Safe (GRAS) status. Industry leaders Coke and Pepsi (in partnerships with Cargill and Merisant, respectively) submitted applications for its approval.
