Sugar is delicious; we are consuming far too much of it; and it is not good for us.
• Just over 100 years ago the average American consumed roughly 5 pounds of sugar a year;
• Twenty years ago the average American consumed roughly 26 pounds of sugar a year; and
• Today the average American consumes roughly 135 pounds of sugar a year.
