The popular vote was very close and if Mitt had changed his tune a little bit he could have swung it into his favor. The electorial count is skewed due to that inane "winner take all" rule in most states. I never cared for that rule, if a party wins the poplar vote by just one then they get all the electorial votes.

Can't access the NYT articles, I think their server is down...anyway your synopsis is pretty telling. Most people on the dole would rather have a job with a livable wage. The dole comes with many stipulations that to take on an entry level job a person will actually make less money, thats counter productive for sure.
