Looks like if the supposed thing they are "drawing up plans for" (minus any evidence of it, other than something "Reuters saw", but produced no evidence of) were to ever be enacted, it would give the CIA the same sweeping, intrusive, obnoxious ability that the three top credit agencies in the US already enjoy. Oh, and that quaint little outfit, the FBI, already has the ability, i guess we need competing agencies sifting through our receipts and deposits.

It is already going the wrong direction, as now one cannot even buy a pair of underwear on ebay without Paypal knowing about it and reporting it to Experian. I am still trying to remember when we gave the credit bureaus so much access to our information without our consent.

It probably arrived in the micro-fine print of a credit card application or checking account statement. And no box to check to "opt out".

And it is getting really hard to pay one's bills with the ingots of silver buried in the back yard.
