To those of you who think the Board Moderator's job is to police these boards with absolute authority, I've got a newsflash for you- Ain't gonna happen!
Six criteria for removing posts we are bound to:
1)Duplicate post- obvious explanation
2)Personal Attack – when someone attacks a person, with name calling, or relating to the messenger and not the message.
3)Spam- obvious explanation
4)Vulgarity- obvious explanation
5)Violation of Privacy – posting of any personal identifiable information (email, real name, phone, address, etc)
6)Threat – someone threatening another member in some fashion
"If it doesn’t fit into either of those categories, it should not be removed."
You folks do have the option of starting a Premium Board
(These boards can only be posted on by Premium Members or Grandfathered Members.)
Then the moderator of that board has greater latitude in that there are now two additional criteria that can be used to regulate their boards:
1) Off Topic – a post unrelated to the board
2) Thread Disruption -- someone posting to disrupt the board, stir up trouble.
Those are the rules we Moderators live with. You have a problem with that then take it up with Matt at IH Admin[Matt].
