The same exact thing happened to me with etrade and its made trading very very difficult cause when I sell something I have to call and wait on hold for 10 minutes for the to override and place the order. If ur gonna day trade with under 25k u should only use suretrader. There is no minimum there.

Etrade will allow you one freebie (as they did myself) but if u make ONE and I mean ONE round trip after that it will put ur acct right back into the minimum equity call. That's what happened. They will release it. But regardless u can not make 1 round trip even after that. This all based on my experiences in the last 3 weeks and now I'm going toto suretrader. Its overseas but I'll take my chances cause I cant trade like this with this BS restriction.
