Yes Threes, a device that can visualize and identify material could be useful. I know a guy who works in a lab operating a machine that can detect particles in liquids down to the sub atomic level. It's used for quality control purposes.

But, (correct me if I'm wrong) isn't live culture a little different? Seeing the cells is only half of the story.The object is to see if cells are alive and viable or dead and sterile. Just as important is determining which compound will cause the cells to become dead or sterile.

So just being able to see that they're there is not enough. The question is " what is their potential?"
