In some parts of the country, marijuana is being used as a treatment for diabetes. This is due to media exposure concerning some interesting benefits that can be derived from it's use. Among those symptoms, the two main ones are increased blood flow and helping to control glucose levels.
Marijuana has shown some promising features in stabilizing the disease. Although more tests have to be conducted, it is a bittersweet victory for diabetics since marijuana is illegal in almost every state.
There are also other benefits that have shown from using marijuana for diabetes treatment. When converted to a cream, it has shown promise in relieving tingling and neuropathic pain in extremities. It has been dually beneficial for opening up arteries and blood vessels and, at the same time, lowering blood pressure.
It has also been found that marijuana has an anti-inflammatory action that has been used to treat some diabetic patients. Gastroparesis, whose primary origin is from diabetes, has also been treated in some cases by using marijuana. Patients have also seen remarkable improvement in their sleep patterns when they partake of the drug. This lowers stress levels the following day, which also directly aids in helping to regulate glucose levels.
As the legal battle rages on over administering marijuana for medicinal purposes, there is hope that diabetics could one day see substantial relief from certain diabetes-related symptoms
