That is a good point ci. Maybe a portable D/C pump (like a sump pump) would be better, for water at least. You could probably run it off the truck battery with jumper cables. I think it would be hard to prime a vertical garden hose for 50'.

Also if you don't have a foot valve you will lose the prime as soon as you stop pumping.
