Red Giant Entertainment Inc (OTCQB: REDG) announced "SUPERNOVAS" as their next animated feature from their lineup of intellectual properties. From its inception, this project is intended to be part of their "Direct-to-Digital" platform they unveiled yesterday.
"We firmly believe in the digital delivery platforms represented by such companies as Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, iTunes and their peers," states Red Giant Entertainment CEO, Benny Powell. "By even conservative estimates, we believe that projects such as this could easily generate over $10 million annually each. By simply tapping into the hundreds of millions of ad views we generate yearly, we believe that these numbers are achievable. This is a key pillar of our business model."
Written and created by movie screenwriter/producer Terry Keefe, SUPERNOVAS is a series that follows four ordinary teens from a small town in upstate New York. While observing a gamma ray burst, they and the town's nearby Supermax prison are irradiated with massive energy that mutates them and grants each of them extraordinary powers. Taking up the mantle of superheroes, they must face off against the powerful inmates who now wreak havoc on the world at large. The series first launched in 2011 as a weekly comic book and garnered a strong fan following.
"I'm very excited to have SUPERNOVAS be developed in this direction," said Keefe. "Red Giant has always been very supportive of my vision and my quirky spin on a classic genre. I couldn't ask for a better home or crew to work with."
This series will be produced by the Red Giant Entertainment production team and animated by Glass House Graphics and Cutting Edge Productions. The feature will act as a pilot with further plans as a half hour on-going series. Similar productions will follow this model.
