The process will involve the filing of a Certificate of Amendment with the State of Nevada and an application to FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority) to recognize the new name and request a new trading symbol. It is expected that the approval process should take no more than four to six weeks.

This is from the company update in a Jan 24th PR, which if you use the latter [6 weeks] that would be this week for just the symbol change NOT the merger. The symbol change would be a step in the right direction and if done this week would be another step by mgmnt keeping their updated time frame. Could be why the small spike in volume today.
