Consumer confidence gained ground, the jobs market improved and the growth estimate for GDP was revised upward to show a positive increase in the fourth quarter 2012. Additionally, the Manufacturing Survey from the Institute for Supply Management moved up in February to 54.2, firmly in expansion territory, with a strong showing in the new orders component.
