A plug-in vehicle (PEV) is any vehicle that can be recharged from any external source of electricity e.g. wall outlets or from electricity stored in rechargeable battery packs that drive the wheels. Vehicles need to be connected to the wall outlet as this short charging time powers the batteries for additional driving time.

Plug-in vehicles can be charged any place, any time, by just plugging into a wall outlet. If the charger becomes damaged, simply replace the old charger with a new one, it isn't necessary to replace the entire charging system.
