I'm pretty sure that anything can happen at a status conference.

When this wonderful state decided to ruin me with a (non civil) trial the second appearance was for a "status conference". At that point my lawyer said that we could make a deal and dispose of it that day, or go on to "pre trial" (Of course, in a civil court, things are not the same at all)

Long story short is that the longs are hoping that they'll decide to settle it and get it over with.

My take is that montecito wants VM179 back because they found out about EXXI being in the area after the sale.. They also may be complaining because the stock split after they got shares. They also may be complaining because they didn't get 500k of the $2M

Do I have all of that about right?

It sounds like Monte's legs are broken in the first place, to me. I don't think they'll manage to unwind the sale. I've not heard any compelling reason they would. We just have to find a way to get rid of those clowns
