ever watch bering sea gold? went from a few boats off nome using small intake hoses, to barges with cranes, and now the dnr has set up a larger shop there with all kinds of new rules for the two free sea areas left to anyone that wants to give it a try,

read about the new gov rules on a gov site yesterday, and they directly quote the popularity of the show as causing all kinds of new interest in the area, they just suck gold up from the sea floor, about 10-20 feet under the harsh artic nome environment.

guessing they are doing the same thing on the russian side.
