It's a corp, not a partnership or individual business. Their risk involves the capital invested just like any investor. They encourage investment while not doing the same themselves? Seems obvious what a strong "opportunity" it is.

There is no logical rationale for not holding sizable shares other than diversification (as their wage income comes from this firm). And even that reason is debatable.
