I have never been to a lab but was curious so I look into the subject myself. I found it hard to believe that samples would be marked with drill locations and other info. Obviously they would know the company sending the samples though. Looks like it is requested they just want the sample sequence on the samples. I doubt this is the lab used but would expect similar standards with others.

"We also request that the outside of the poly-woven bags be marked with the sample sequence enclosed."
