....and I caught him, somewhat in passing, through a studio,
when he was working w. Guru on those jazz rap things.

I'd seen him lots, growing up in the cities clubs and I had many Blue Note recordings he played on, but the jazzmatazz(?) collaboration was a surprise to me.
