AT&T rolled out "Fiber Connectivity " in San Diego with 2 other Major Metro Cities 9 years ago. common connectivity has been @ 100mips Full Duplex, 8 years ago in San Diego. Currently we are on a standard GIG both UP/Download. Hence we started calling it "FIRE WIRE" in 2004. Now all of the network switches I work with are all "FULL GIG" on all ports. The next time you see your AT&T trucks with guys with the air blowing those yellow tubes into the manhole drive around the block take another look, maybe even stop and ask "Is there a problem with my phone service in my area? They are friendly folks.
