That seems a favorite project of B Gates (particularly configured as a tablet UPC), but I have thought that MSFT would not get into hardware that completes so directly with its core software customers, the computer OEMs.

If your guess is correct, would you see MSFT selling such devices directly or developing reference kits for use by participating computer OEMs?

I get the feeling that MSFT is looking to branch out from software and non-competitive products in a search for new revenue streams. They seem to have a new version of Windows for every conceivable product category. Are there any rumors of what MSFT is up to?
