The difference with VPS is that if I get a script written for me at 9am by Dr. A and then try to Dr shop and get another script from Dr. B at 10am ... Dr. B will see that I was given a script an hour earlier, because VPS requires that the DR use a PDA type device that is tied into the network. THAT is real time info. Not the generation of reports from a database that is not real-time.

The last improvement to kasper was that the reports could be retrieved quicker. But it did not give the real-time up to the minute status of prescriptions before a script was even filled.
You can see that if Dr. B writes a second script he will have to answer for that. That is how you get the problem under control.

I was a systems analyst for years I do understand what real-time really means.

I will verify the correctness of this post but I am pretty sure that is how VPS works.
