9:13 AM Statoil (STO) is slapped with an improvement order by Norway’s safety watchdog after a serious gas leak at its Heimdal platform last year. The action follows a probe by the Petroleum Safety Authority that uncovered “serious regulatory breaches” by STO, which led to the incident in which 3,500 kg of gas escaped, creating a potentially combustible cloud around the facility.
