You may be proven correct in this regard, but it seems at least as likely to imply an Efficeon chip that has some unique coding for eg a MSFTconsumer product. If you read the redacted agreement between TMTA and MSFT, attached to the 2Q report, it seems pretty evident that TMTA is preparing a version of the E* chip for MSFT's use. Perhaps that use is little more than a model for a product to be produced by OEMs (and use MSFT software). But, it may well be for use in a consumer product to be marketed internationally by MSFT. This of course is the "$64,000 Question." The fact that three months after reaching full operation of the Mie fab Fujitsu is now planning another 300mm fab may be a clue in this regard.

If you would, could you comment on my WAG that TMTA is fashioning a version of an E* with LR2 and with a unique version of CMS that provides some mechanism to manage video and audio content being delivered to subscribers through a MSFT Media Center product or IPTV device. Specifically, is it possible for CMS to provide a "hacker-free" mechanism whereby copyrighted content may be accessed by a media ctr computer/set top box/ IPTV device/etc., but the consumer only receives a time limited license to such content (or pays a premium for more extensive rights) and is prohibited from making copies of the content or sending it to third party.

If I am B Gates, I would be striving to put MSFT into the middle of the convergence of voice-data-entertainment and not just for the sale of enabling software.
