For example, in a case of a 1 to 1000 shares reverse split. if a share holder owns less than a 1000 shares the company will cash him/her out, meaning he/she will receive cash instead of shares. By doing this the amount of share holders will be reduced. this is a case of penny and sub penny lands where many holders owns small shares but they could detriment the stock's health. Also Many institutional investors and mutual funds, for example, have rules against purchasing a stock whose price is below some minimum, perhaps US$5. I think NTEK is looking for bigger players here since they really believe in their products and decided not to dilute the stock but to buy back instead. It's looks good to me and I'm confident about it. GO NTEK and I hope it will do like RTK when I owned it in the penny land.
