As I understand it, a t-trade posted after hours is a trade that was made during the day but wasn't settled during the day. There's no way to tell if it was a short position covering or not, really. Also, I believe that even though it looks like one huge trade, it can actually be several trades lumped together and an MM settling his books. I am by no means an authority on this subject.
