Wex, with all due respect (please ignore the standard implication of that phrase) you are missing the point. I am trained to be skeptical, and yet I believe in Fuse.

Advil is great. It works. That is the only reason it is around. If it were a new drug, the FDA would NEVER approve it. The gastrointestinal side effects alone would ruin any hope it had. That is not to mention the impact a COX inhibitor has on the kidneys. If anyone can resolve a headache without the use of an NSAID, that is a plus. I do not care if it is a Fuse product, meditation, or taking a hot shower.

Any product based on natural ingredients is better than a drug that negatively impacts the body's natural reactions. Nobody is saying there are not alternatives. Gatorade is great. It is nothing more than salt and sugar mixed with water (and a few other less desirable compounds). Nothing will ever replace water as a means of rehydration or preventing dehydration. However, (as much as I hate to admit it), Adler was right in saying that the ability to deliver a dose of electrolytes (let alone insulin) via a small "tube of goo" not only has implications for athletes in this country, but for the malnourished in other countries as well. Honestly, that is the most exciting part of this company to me. The idea that nutrients can be delivered effectively in a concentrated dose anywhere in the world is a groundbreaking idea. I have family in the military (a brother who has done multiple stints in the Middle East), and anything that would help counter the loss of electrolytes due to sweating is a worthwhile endeavor to me .

Financially, I think the wheelhouse of Fuse is to crack into the supplement market. If they really can pull off the administration of medication (i.e. insulin), I will be blown away. I am no cheerleader. I do not praise ideas or science that I do not believe in. I believe in Fuse. I believe this company has a real chance to do good beyond the superficial, money hoarding market of American athletes. That is why I have put money in it, and please believe me when I say that I do not do that lightly or without care.
