In no way are we changing the silkworm.



They are absolutely changing the silkworm. They are splicing spider DNA directly into the genome of the silkworm before it's even hatched, in precise places in the silkworm's genome so that the silkworm spins our silk.

For the record, minus medical applications I don't see how the FDA would be involved.
