We are talking about the appropriateness of providing the email.
He makes a statement on current activity and he also makes a forward looking statement on 2013. Sorry, but outside of a PR that is a no-no. He also has no safe harbor protection if, for example, 2013 doesn't turn out great.
It amazes me that people don't get this.
Just look at the number of posts that are touting that email as great "news" and a reason to stay in ...KMAG. It was meant to influence investor confidence in a positive way but distributed via a third party on a message board. I would bet dollar to donuts that if the SEC came a knocking and asked if it was actually his email, he would deny it and that is why he did it that way....It was a dog whistle to the believers...but plausibly deniable.
Why didn't he just post himself?
EDIT...or the email is just fabricated by someone to influence people. Problem is, either way, its a problem.
