Etrade: no stop loss available.

Well, I was in, now I'm out. I tried to put a stop loss to protect my investment, and the computer sold off my shares.

I actually placed a limit at 25 cents instead of placing a stop. I found it odd that there were only like 4 choices - a stop wasn't one of them.

I called etrade to find out why my SWVI got sold off. He said they do not allow stop losses on this security because the stop loss turns into a market order and there becomes a huge spread between the market price and your stop loss. He said they do this to protect the investor.

So, the answer to your question is no stop loss allowed with etrade for SWVI. You got to watch L2.

Not sure if I'll come back in. I did make a profit today.
