Hey Nwsun, I have been able to determine that the message we get and the gray screens are coming from the Firefox browser.
Check and see if when the gray box appears with the vulnerability message on I Hub if up in the far left hand corner of the browser address bar you see a red Lego like symbol. Click on it and it will install the plug in. It is a pain but for some reason firefox isn't recognizing Oracle / Java new update. It's not Java or I Hub problem but Our browser I believe. Oracle/ Java update is secure it's that Firefox has an issue with it.

Wanted to also ask if by chance you use AVG internet secure search?
