The first reason that comes to my mind as to why he would bring it up is because a lot of people ask question of him about a lot of issues and this might be a case where he used the Medinah/Ulander dance as a hypothetical example to assist in answering their question..

My question would be why would you bring it up after reading that he offered it as a hypothetical scenario and then why do you offer it as fact?
