Words can not express how I felt when I just saw the news and stock today. No, not because I was thrilled with the news, but because I saw that I missed a spike up to 9.7 cents that I could have used to make some serious money. I know, hind-sight is 20/20, but anyone who has been watching this stock for 2-3 years could have read todays PR and immediately known what would happen with the stock today. Of course there would be an initial surge as news traveled of "a new company starting production", but the regulars here should have known that it isn't as awesome as it sounds.

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories announced today that it plans on launching its pilot production program for Monster Silk™, the Company's recombinant spider silk, in the first or second quarter of 2013. The Company anticipates launching the pilot program within the next sixty to ninety days. The program is designed to transition Kraig from laboratory scale production to commercial. scale production of Monster Silk.

This is the exact same thing that we heard last April when they moved into the new lab! "Hey guys, we just moved into a HUGE lab so now we can product commercial quantities of MonsterSilk! We should be commercializing it soon!" Now, not only do we know that it hasn't happened yet, but we know that it hasn't even started yet! Not only has it not even started yet, but they don't even plan on starting for the next 2-3 months?!? Given Kim's forecasting history, this 2-3 months will actually be at least 3-6 months. So they moved into a lab with promises of imminent commercialization, and it won't even start until more than 1 year later? And that's just to see if they can actually do it and how much it will cost? What have they been doing for the last year?!?

The initial goals for the pilot production program are to confirm production scalability and cost structures for Monster Silk™, as well as to satisfy the demand for larger scale Monster Silk™ sample requests from textile producers and product developers.

So we're ramping up production size, but not because we actually have a deal, but because we just want to make sure we can?!? Enough of the, "They must already have a customer, but that customer just wants to rename nameless, and NDAs and yadda-yadda". It clearly states that the initial goal, meaning the first thing they want to figure out, is whether or not they can actually produce commercial quantities and how much it will cost them to do so! If they don't know these things, especially the exact costs involved, how can they already have a customer? Does anyone really think that someone would agree to buy anything from anyone and not know how much it would cost? Without these numbers, there is no way that they have any deals in the works. And they won't even have these numbers for at least 3 more months, probably closer to 6-9 months since they are going to start ramping up in 3 months, and they won't have anything for at least 3-6 months after that. Add on another 3 months for good measure since this is KBLB and nothing is ever done when it is said that it will be.

And the other purpose of this pilot program (that won't even start for 3 more months) is to produce bigger samples for potential customers? Shouldn't this part have happened over a year ago?!? Kim also clearly said that he only wanted to deal with 1 or 2 customers at first. If he still needs to get samples to both textile producers (plural, meaning more than 1) as well as product developers (also plural), then it is clear that he does not already have a customer. If he did, he wouldn't be trying to land others. Yes, I am pretty sure that he probably has several interested parties, but since nothing new has changed with MonsterSilk, can someone please explain to me one good thing that has actually changed in the last year for MonsterSilk? Do not mention Big Red because KBLB is still just talking about commercializing MonsterSilk, which they had almost 2 years ago now!
