Unfortunately, and more often, it's also SOP for when bad news leaks. I hope you're right. Hoping the company makes an after-hours PR at least stating they have no idea what the heck's going on. That should put us back to $8.75 in AH and over $9 in the morning; of course that's all moot if they release *other* news.
