I object to the use of the word "taking". If I don't feel that the product is worth more than the price tag then I don't buy it. If the seller doesn't feel that the money (or other object of value) I'm giving him isn't worth more than his product, then he won't sell it to me. That's how commerce - and most of life - works. It's hard to recognize at times, but vitamin salesmen, newsletter writers, stock brokers, even lawyers work that way.
I'm retired now, so I give my services away most of the time. What do I get in return of more value? A good feeling. Satisfaction. A "Thank you" from the recipient. Sometimes, just a smile.
Oh yeah, sometimes that recipient helps me when I need it too.
