MANF is a potential cure for Parkinsons disease

No, that is a more encompassing statement than Amarantus is willing to make.

MJF stated on Letterman that "by the time the first tremor appeared in my little finger in '92, it was 'too late' for me".

That is to say that by the time a patient is symptomatic the dopamine producing neurons are dead.

Nowhere does Amarantus state or imply that they are on the verge of finding a 'cure' for PD patients who are symptomatic.

Early diagnosis and 'rejuvenation' represent enough of a breakthrough and making statements not supported by Amarantus, or by evidence from MANF studies, is both irresponsible and unhelpful to the company, the stock and most importantly to PD patients who may be misled by such exaggerations.

Current approved therapies treat only the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. There is an urgent medical need for curative treatments for Parkinson’s disease that fills the fundamental gap in treatment: arresting disease progression. MANF, a neurotrophic factor indicated for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, offers the promise of safely and effectively protecting dopamine producing neurons from death and rejuvenating dying cells to ultimately stop the progress of Parkinson’s disease and restore normal function to patients.
