Cancer Awareness and New Drug Trials.
A talk on CANCER AWARENESS and NEW DRUGS was conducted by Kerala State Veterinary Council on 31st Jan 2012 at Peroorkada. Dr. E.P. Krishna Menon, VMD, MRCS, Ph.D., [Oncologist and Cancer research scientist] USA,handled the sessions.The sessions were mainly on Bone,Rectal and Prostate cancer and on anti-cancer drugs.

More than 45 vets from different parts of Kerala,including Veterans like Prof. Dr. Ramakumar and Dr. D.V.P. Nair attended. Dr. N.N. Sasi, Registrar, KSVC, welcomed the gathering and Dr. John Kuruvilla [ROUND TABLE VETS] introduced the Chief guest.

Dr. Krishna Menon,[1965 batch] a graduate of Kerala Veterinary College,took his Doctorate in Pharmacology from Harward university and worked as cancer researcher in Bayer and Ely-Lilly. He was the Vice President of Ely Lilly. He took his MRCS in modern medicine from university of Copenhagen.He owns two pharma-research companies, Cellceutics and Kardinc Ltd. His new anti-cancer drug"KEVETRIN" is under clinical trial.This drug discovered by Dr. Menon, is expected to make a revolution in the field of cancer treatment. Veterinarians of Kerala feel proud of the achievements of Dr. Krishna Menon.
